Mercy Medical Center Laboratory plays a vital role in helping to diagnose, treat and monitor the health status of our patients.  The laboratory is a CLIA certified, College of American Pathologists (CAP) and JCAHO accredited highly complex laboratory with locations at the main hospital campus and at Mercy North Health Center at the Garrity Blvd exit.  The laboratory is committed to providing high quality, cost effective laboratory services to all of its customers. 

The Laboratory at the main campus provides a comprehensive testing menu in all areas of laboratory medicine 24 hours/day, seven days a week and provides services to a number of customers including inpatients, outpatients, physician offices, clinics, and nursing homes throughout the region.

The Laboratory has three board certified pathologists who provide pathology consultation.  The technical staff is composed of nationally certified Medical Technologists, Medical Lab Technicians, Phlebotomists and Histology Technicians.  The laboratory places strong emphasis on quality control, proficiency testing and other quality assurance initiatives.  We participate in a number of external quality control programs.  This, combined with an emphasis on employee competency testing, assures that our results are accurate and reliable.
