MERCY NORTH AMBUCARE
Mercy North AmbuCare is a freestanding outpatient surgery center
operated by Mercy Medical Center. More than 60,000 surgeries
have been performed by AmbuCare since the original facility opened
in February of 1983. This experience enables Mercy North AmbuCare
to acheive and maintain its goal of providing patients with high-quality
care, while keeping costs as low as possible.
Surgeons on Mercy AmbuCare's medical staff include specialists
in: ear, nose, and throat; general surgery; obstetric/gynecologic
surgery; ophthalmology; orthopedics; urology; and dermatology.
The all-physician anesthesiology group works closely with specialized
operating room nurses and technicians to provide high-quality
anesthesia and pain management services.
The Mercy North AmbuCare staff is committed to making your visit
comfortable, convenient, and safe. The facility has four modern
surgical suites. Parking spaces are available just outside the
entrance in the Mercy North parking lot so you do not need to
walk far to your appointment.
The day of your surgery should be free of as many concerns as
possible, so we encourage you to register at Mercy North AmbuCare
at least two days prior to the scheduled day of your surgery.
When you register, you will receive instructions on how to prepare
for your procedure.
On the day of your surgery, you will be escorted to one of the
seven private pre-operative rooms. A nurse will prepare you for
your procedure and answer any questions you may have. Your anesthesiologist
will meet with you to discuss any anesthesia and pain management
concerns. After surgery, the recovery room nurses will continue
to assess and monitor your condition, and will allow family members
to join you as soon as possible.
Throughout your procedure, your family may relax in the waiting
room. There are vending machines located in the Mercy North lobby area.
Family members may also be provided with pagers so that they
may leave the facility with the security of knowing that they
can be contacted immediately. At the completion of the procedure,
the surgeon visits with families/significant others. A Doctor/Family
Conference Room is available for these communications. The patient
will be stabilized in Phase I of the recovery room. Following
this, the nurses will accompany you into Phase II of the recovery
area so that you may remain with your family member/significant
other until discharge from the surgery center.
If your child is having surgery at Mercy North AmbuCare, you
may remain in the pre-operative area until he/she is taken back
to the surgery suite.
