The licensed occupational therapy staff at Mercy Medical Center is dedicated to assisting our patients recover from problems caused from an accident, illness, or disease.  Occupational therapists specialize in designing care plans to improve patient’s quality of life through the promotion of maximal function and independence with activities of daily living such as bathing, eating, toileting, dressing and those associated with work and leisure.  Occupational therapists also problem solve issues with their patients and make suggestions for appropriate equipment and modifications to improve safety and independence. The occupational therapists at Mercy Medical Center work to help our patients achieve their highest level of functional independence prior to returning home.  We also work closely with physicians and case managers to provide recommendations for other services when needed such as outpatient therapy, home health care, an acute rehabilitation facility, or a skilled nursing facility.
