Mercy Medical Center Recognized Again
for High Employee Satisfaction

Nampa, Idaho – Mercy Medical Center announced today that it received the Excellence through Insight Award for Overall Employee Satisfaction by HealthStream Research. This honor from the Nashville-based provider of learning and research solutions for the healthcare industry is one of several consecutive employee satisfaction recognitions that Mercy Medical Center has received over the past 4 years.

"We are very committed to providing an excellent working environment here at Mercy," said Joe Messmer, President and CEO of Mercy Medical Center. "This award reflects the quality here at Mercy Medical Center, for both employees and patients alike."

Mercy Medical Center was awarded this honor for its commitment to excellence in employee satisfaction, which is also correlated with higher patient satisfaction. To qualify for the award, a hospital must have scored in the top quartile of the HealthStream Research database in 2007. Mercy Medical Center was selected for exceeding industry standards and achieving the highest ratings in employee satisfaction according to HealthStream Research, which compared data from over 150 hospitals nationally and determined the best hospitals by benchmarking and ranking the hospitals on their employee satisfaction data.

This award is one of many that honors and highlights Mercy's commitment to excellence and places the hospital as a true leader in healthcare quality. In addition to its dedication to employee satisfaction, Mercy has been recognized with awards for its outstanding care of its patients. Mercy Medical Center has won the Total Benchmark Solution Best Acute Care Hospital Award two years in a row and a Blue Cross of Idaho Award for Hospital Quality two years in a row as well.

Mercy Medical Center is a 152 bed acute care hospital serving the medical needs of the greater Nampa area. Mercy Medical Center was founded in 1917 by The Sisters of Mercy and is owned and operated by Catholic Health Initiatives, the second largest Catholic health system in the United States.
