Governor Butch Otter to Award
Tough Enough for Pink Endowment
to area hospitals Hundreds of Free Mammograms Now Available for
Treasure Valley Women

Nampa, ID March 19, 2007:
The Snake River Stampede is pleased to announce that Governor Butch Otter and First Lady Lori Otter will be awarding endowment funds to Tough Enough for Pink hospital partners St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center of Boise & Meridian, and Mercy Medical Center of Nampa, on Thursday March 22nd at at 2:00 p.m. at the Idaho Center’s Rodeo Club. The program is designed to assist hundreds of Treasure Valley women obtain screening mammograms at zero cost to them.

“The goal of Tough Enough for Pink is to educate area women about the need for annual mammograms, and to make access easy and convenient, while removing the financial obstacles that many underinsured and income-restricted women face today. The screenings are free and they save lives. We are proud to be a part of this worthwhile cause,” says Rodeo Board President Vern Carpenter. Women simply need to contact either St. Luke’s (208/381-2095) or Mercy Medical Center ( 208-288-4630) to determine eligibility and to schedule an appointment.

Carpenter went on to say “This endeavor would not have been possible without the generous financial assistance provided by corporate sponsors D. L. Evans Bank and
Coltrin Central Vacuum. We are so encouraged and grateful that community businesses have stepped up to support this vital program.”

The free screening mammograms under the Tough Enough for Pink endowment are available between February 1st and December 31st, 2007, or until funds are exhausted.

A press conference including the Governor and hospital representatives regarding Tough Enough For Pink and Free Mammograms is scheduled for Thursday March 22nd, 2:00 p.m. at the Rodeo Club, located at the Idaho Center in Nampa (16200 Can Ada Road; 208-468-1000)
